MovieMakers is a band formed in November 2005.
Andrea Keller after a few years dedicated, simply for passion, to the study of Mark Knopfler’s guitar style decides to begin a new musical direction with the idea of creating a new band that could represent the great Dire Straits.
Motivated and determined Keller, after many dissolved initial tries (that helped his experience anyway), begins his new “hard work” trying to find, around the city of Reggio Emilia, some musicians with experience in music and with the right excite and motivation needed to cooperate in the realization of his project.
So he begins to meet the members of his new band: the drummer-percussionist of the “Discorari” Enzo Grosso, the bass player Nicola Rustichelli and after a while the acoustic guitarist Andrea Ferrari.
The 4 musicians begin to work at their new plan facing their first problem: finding the right practice room.
They decide to renew a room in an old barn just outside Reggio Emilia and after a few weeks they can obtain a well-done practice room set up with all the technical devices they need.
All the musicians of course agree to Keller’s project to create a band as a Dire Straits Tribute, so they begin to give life to the MovieMakers.
During the first months Keller can already feel more and more the spontaneous excite and the musical devotion that joins the band members together, so they decide to complete their plan adding to the band Marco D’Agostino, a keyboard player from the southern region Puglia with a good musical experience and with a good will of having fun in a Dire Straits Tribute Band.
In 2008 the band finds a change: for job reasons Marco D’Agostino needs to leave the band so a new member takes his place: Marco Mammi, who resumes Marco D’Agostino’s keyboard player role adding to the arrangements parts of Alto, Tenor and Soprano Saxophone.
In october 2010 Marco Mammi decides to dedicate his role to the saxophones, leaving his keyboards to young and promising Marco Prampolini.
The MovieMakers are: Andrea Keller (lead guitar/voice), Enzo Grosso (drums), Nicola Rustichelli (bass), Andrea Ferrari (guitars/backing vocals), Marco Mammi (saxophones), Marco Prampolini (keyboards).
